Ditch your single-use plastics for 50% off the bill at this Dubai restaurant

The Noodle House, the UAE’s homegrown Asian soul food concept, is urging eco-conscious diners across the Emirates to join the fight against single-use plastics for its second annual Plastic Amnesty, which coincides with Earth Day on Monday, April 22.

Following its runaway success last year, The Noodle House will once again cut Dubai diners’ food bills in half when they deposit unwanted single-use plastic cutlery items – from any café or restaurant – in dedicated collection bins on Earth Day. The 50 percent discount applies to an unlimited number of diners depositing unused plastic cutlery.

“The Noodle House continues to lead the way in creating a sustainable dining culture and is committed to driving change among our industry peers and the general public,” said Steven Holloway, Operations Manager at The Noodle House.

“Last year’s Plastic Amnesty created a tangible buzz across the city and stimulated a huge debate among our consumers. The fight to move towards a more sustainable F&B industry goes on, however, and we’re bringing the food-for-plastic incentive back to all our restaurants in Dubai.”

The ‘Plastic Amnesty’ is one of numerous sustainable initiatives tackling plastic pollution driven by The Noodle House and its operator, JRG Dubai, the homegrown restaurant management company.

Following the removal of all plastic straws and single-use plastic cutlery items across The Noodle House’s physical restaurants and home delivery operations in 2018, the chain has launched compostable ‘Vegware’ packaging for its takeaway and delivery services. The Noodle House has also introduced house-filtered water in glass jars at its restaurants in Souk Madinat Jumeirah and Dubai International Financial Centre. This will be rolled out to the remaining branches in the coming weeks to end plastic bottle use across the portfolio.
