The Beach House at Anantara The Palm feels calm and open, with uninterrupted views across the water from the moment you arrive. We visited during lunch, when the terrace was bathed in soft daylight, and the atmosphere felt easy and laid-back. The interiors lean into a coastal palette of warm wood, woven seating and muted blue accents, framed by a shaded pergola and gently turning ceiling fans. Tables sit on polished wooden decking overlooking the sea, with the resort’s overwater villas stretching out in the distance.
A DJ plays in the background, adding a subtle rhythm to the afternoon without overpowering the space. With its open-air layout and steady sea breeze, it’s especially well suited to Dubai’s cooler months, when outdoor dining is at its best.
Culinary highlights
We ordered à la carte, starting with the watermelon and feta salad, fresh and light with cucumber, mint and creamy feta, finished with almond flakes, lemon and olive oil. The spicy gambas followed, with prawns sautéed in chilli and garlic, sitting in a rich lobster bisque with cherry tomatoes and butter.
For mains, the chicken souvlaki is comforting and familiar, with well-marinated chicken, cool tzatziki, red onion and warm pita, served alongside a tomato and cucumber salad. The tagliolini lobster leans more indulgent, with handmade pasta coated in lobster bisque, topped with half a Canadian lobster, fava beans, and a hint of dill and lime zest.
We kept things classic for dessert, opting for the chocolate fondant with its molten salted caramel centre, paired with red berry sauce, fresh berries and vanilla ice cream. The tiramisu in a jar closes the meal on a familiar note, with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.
