Review: OPA Dubai

The highlights

As we settled into our seats, our taste buds were treated to a delightful array of cold starters. The Grilled pita with olive oil and oregano served as the perfect prelude, awakening our senses for the feast that awaited. The Tyrokafteri, a blend of feta cheese, harissa, and roasted red peppers, provided a spicy kick, while the OPA hummus stole the spotlight with its tableside presentation and an array of garnishes including crispy duck, pine nuts, parsley, and red peppers.

The highlight of our starters was the juicy OPA manti, a braised wagyu short rib encased in a feta dumpling, drizzled with garlic yoghurt, and adorned with toasted almonds and coriander pesto.

Our captivating evening at OPA Dubai immersed us in a vibrant Greek culinary odyssey with lively entertainment. Traditional Greek dancing and exhilarating staff performances enhanced the celebration, and the breaking of plates tradition created an atmosphere resonating with joyful celebrations for special occasions. The succulent Lamb kebab, accompanied by spicy tomato sauce and garlic yoghurt, further elevated our dining experience. For the main course, we enjoyed the Lahmajoun artfully presented a delectable blend of minced lamb, tomato, spices, Greek yoghurt, and roasted pine nuts, followed by the OPA moussaka with 48-hour braised short rib, spiced aubergine, potato terrine, kasseri cheese, and burnt onion jus.

The flavourful Lamb chops, cooked to perfection according to our liking, were presented alongside tangy pickled cucumber and creamy tzatziki, delivering an explosion of flavours in each mouthwatering bite.

As the night progressed, we found ourselves irresistibly drawn to the renowned OPA sundae. Encased in a delicate phyllo cup, this masterpiece boasted a luscious blend of pistachio cream, update restaurant reviews homemade pistachio, caramel, and velvety Greek yoghurt ice cream. Adorned with artful touches of baklava and crowned with a drizzle of caramel sauce, crispy phyllo, and crushed pistachios, presented a harmonious symphony of sweetness and diverse textures.
