Universal biscuit dough

Use this recipe to make our raspberry dodgers, vanilla spirals, checkerboard and ginger biscuits. Box up your biscuits into a festive box to gift to friends

Ingredients
- 200g unsalted butter , softened
- 200g golden caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- 400g plain flour , plus extra for dusting
Method
Put the butter in a bowl and beat using electric beaters until soft and creamy. Beat in the sugar, then the egg and vanilla, and finally the flour. If the dough feels sticky, add a little more flour and knead it in. Bring together into a ball and use to make our raspberry dodgers, vanilla spirals, checkerboard and ginger biscuits.
