How Bahriyat Express turned a fisherman’s legacy into a homegrown favourite

Sponsored: From its founder’s family ties to the Gulf’s fishing traditions to its daily fish market sourcing, Bahriyat Express is building a modern seafood brand rooted in Saudi heritage

Long before Bahriyat Express opened its first branch, its founder, Ali Al Musalam, grew up hearing stories from his grandfather, a fisherman whose working life was shaped by the Gulf. That family history sits behind the brand’s approach to seafood today, built on the promise “from the sea to your plate” and now serving guests across Saihat, Al Khobar, Dammam and Al Ahsa.

Fresh from Tarout market, every day

Bahriyat Express sources its fish daily from Tarout Fish Market, working with the freshest catch available each day while staying true to the cooking styles synonymous with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

Bahriyat Express’ menu offers a modern take on traditional Saudi and Gulf seafood cuisine, built around a fast casual format. Dishes such as machboos and mutabbaq sit on the menu alongside other regional favourites. Beyond individual meals, Bahriyat Express also caters for family gatherings and larger group orders, alongside a delivery-focused offering.

Expanding across the Gulf

Looking ahead, the founder’s ambition is for Bahriyat Express to become one of Saudi Arabia’s leading seafood names, built on the same combination of daily sourcing, standardised recipes and fast service that defines its current branches.

Currently operating in four cities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, Bahriyat Express plans to expand into other cities across the Middle East and Europe over the next two years. Stay tuned!
